Cell Phone Marketing, the Next Generation of Advertising
Cell phone marketing is the new online advertising fad. Since every cellular phone these days can surf the web, online marketing has taken a shift that wants to find ways to exploit this.
After all, many sites have now two versions—one optimized for the normal web users, and one optimized for viewing in the smaller screens of cellular phones. The versions for the cellular phones have to be every bit as downsized in size, but should still offer room and opportunities for ad insertion.
Cell phone marketing also takes place even without reference to the web. The practice of sending text messages to subscribers of various networks has been in place for some time now. The disadvantage with this kind of method, however, is that the ads are construed as spam that only eat up space in the cellular phone’s Inbox.
Cell phone marketers should also offer recipients of their advertisements an option to opt out of future notifications. This will help keep cell phone subscribers from being opposed to receiving ads they are not interested in.
