Click Fraud
Click Fraud is on the minds of many advertisers these days, and it’s understandable why the amount of concern is growing.
According to a recent study called “USA Online Advertising Forecast, 2005 – 2011“, performed by Jupiter, about $6.5 Billion will be spent on search advertising in 2006 alone, a figure that is projected to jump to $11-billion over the next five or so years. Click Fraud, which is estimated to range from 3% – 20% of PPC traffic (Pay Per Click) could therefore be a factor in $350-million or more in click-transactions.
As concern for click fraud grows, advertisers are looking into using click fraud tracking tools, one such tool is called click forensics, it’s tool that has been hot for discussion on local tv and newspapers. It’s a good idea to use click fraud tracking tools, but what actually happens when you’ve identified click fraud using a tool? the next step would be to get the big SE’s to respond to click fraud findings and credit accounts.
