Directory Submissions
Many site owners following SEO trends will know that it’s important to get your website listed in directories across the web. One directory that SEO folks deem important is the Yahoo Directory, although this can be costly ($299/year). For those of you with tight budgets there are thousands of free web directories you can add your link too.
Directory link backs are considered good link backs, and link backs to have a part in determining your rankings with Google and other engines. You may ask yourself… are these directory sites going to bring you any traffic? Well, probably only a few for the niche industry related directories, but this isn’t the point. The point to getting listed in directories is for rankings with the search engines. The theory is, if you have many one way link backs then your site may be deemed important.
Other ways to get ethical link back are to write press releases, blogs, creating new content, and to make link backs with other related sites.
