Don’t Guess Keywords
Don’t just guess a bunch of keywords for your site – do the research on how many people are actually using the keywords you picked to target your website. For instance, if you’re a local shoe repair shop in Baltimore, Maryland, don’t try focusing your keywords to be nationwide, you’ll find it harder to rank, and if someone finds you and they are from Los Angeles, California it was a wasted visit (unless they plan to fly 3,000 miles to your store).
Try focusing on keywords that will bring you customers that you can actually sell too. Opt for keywords like ‘Shoe Repair Maryland” or ‘Shoe Repair Baltimore’ or even ‘East Coast Shoe Repairs’. They’ll be much easier to rank better on with the engines and you’ll get more qualified site visitors and inquiries.
