Exploring the Googlebot
A Googlebot is a search bot used by Google to gather documents from the internet to help construct a searchable index for the Google search engine.
There are versions of a Googlebot, deepbot and freshbot. A deepbot’s basic function is to download as many pages as it can from the internet to Google’s database. Indexers. This process is repeated monthly.
A freshbot acts similarly to a deepbot except that it only searches for new content on the internet. A freshbot searches the internet often to find new information and content.
A Googlebot finds pages by constantly seeking links found on websites, then it follows any links it finds and indexes links on the linked next page. Basically all new web pages must be linked to by an existing webpage.
