Flat Site Architecture

There are two common types of site architecture, known as ‘Flat Architecture Website’ and ‘Deep Architecture Website’

Flat architecture sites are basically sites that link to many subpages within 1 or 2 levels (homepage and 1st set of sub pages). Deep architecture sites normally have links placed throughout the site from any page levels, perhaps you’d have to navigate from sub-topic to sub-topic before you actually could click to see the page you needed.

So which is better? We’ll it all depends on your particular site, while flat architecture is ideal for getting good page ranks, it’s also not very ideal for larger sites.

Before designing your website, map out the architecture first, with some creative mapping you could make a big site a flat one.
