Google Makes Searching Personal
Contrary to what many believe, it is unlikely that a website’s SERPs will be influenced by Google’s more personalized search. For years, many webmasters and SEO professionals wondered about what levels of change there were in Google’s SERP. This has been a widely discussed topic in the search optimization world.
Today these same webmasters are wondering how much movement there is in the SERPs for a given type of query and within a given region. There has been some variation being seen in Internet Explorer, FireFox and Chrome.
There is really no need to change how you approach things regarding your SERPs and it may just be the measuring of the SERPs that we have to adapt to. You should check your rankings from a few different locations and then try to determine an average rank in order to know where your site stands.
Keep in mind that related searches done during the past 60 days do not make a difference. There is no big difference in ranking between those with recent, related searches to those without.
Adding more personal results is supposed to optimize web browsing for consumers. Webmasters and SEO professionals will have to make sure they stay on top of the latest trends to stay ahead of their competitors.
