New Google DataCenter in Charlotte, NC Suburb
According to the Charlotte Observer newspaper, Google has announced it will be providing 200+ new jobs to Lenior, NC (a suburb area northwest of Charlotte, North Carolina).
The observer goes on to mention that Google plans to invest up to $600 million to build a brand new datacenter in order to support the company’s online operations. This will bring new jobs to an economically challanged county during the next few years.
Google decided to go to this area after state and local leaders promised more than $100 million in tax breaks over 30 years to win the operation. It publicly confirmed its plans with local officials at meetings and a reception this month.
