Keep Track of Google’s Algorithm Changes

Posted on Thursday 3 July 2008

If your websites are not updated to suit Google algorithm changes, then a Google algorithm change may send your website sinking like a stone in the search results. Keep track of the changes to keep your website ranking at least partially unaffected.

Each month, the search positioning ranks change as a result of the latest Google algorithm updates. Essentially, there are two main parts to the algorithm that Google uses. The text matching system is the first one whereby Google tries to find pages appropriate to what the searcher has entered in the search box.

The second and equally important part of the algorithm is the Google patented Page Rank system. Google gives a lot of importance to the title tag while searching for keywords. So be careful to change the title tag according to algorithm change. For page ranking, Google uses different algorithms periodically; it is advised to keep a sharp eye on inbound and outbound links to your website.
