Mobile Media Marketing is the Future

The buzz around the development and potential revenue that will be generated by Mobile Media Marketing in the near future is intensifying. Industry leaders and marketing professionals around the word realize that Mobile Media Marketing is the wave of the future in advertising. Some believe that it will have the same or a bigger impact that internet marketing had on the advertising world!

The advertising industry in the United States is not even close to the level of market saturation that Mobile Media Marketing has already reached in European and Asian countries. This is a good thing for savvy marketers that stay abreast of trends in the industry because they will be the ones to lead the US in this revolutionary (you could even say evolutionary) step in advertising strategies and techniques.

To put things into perspective, think about these facts from a July 2009 Facebook press release…

• There are more than 30 million active users currently accessing Facebook through their mobile devices.

• Facebook users that use their mobile devices to access the site are almost 50% more active on Facebook than non-mobile users.

• There are more than 150 mobile operators in 50 countries working to deploy and promote Facebook mobile products

• That potentially amounts to a lot of time for direct market exposure of your products and services to millions of consumers 24 hours a day, every day. And that’s just for one social networking site.

If that’s not enough to think about, try these Mobile Media Marketing factoids…

• There will be 5.8 billion mobile subscribers worldwide by 2013 according to a firm called Portio Research

• According to Juniper Research, SMS marketing will quadruple by 2014

• 60 percent of the world’s population is covered by a next-gen HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) mobile network (i.e., 3G in the US). This means faster and better access to media-rich internet ads, downloads and resources.

Just think, practically everyone you know has at least one mobile phone. Chances are, they also have a desktop or laptop computer (or both) but, which of the 3 devices do you think is always on and always with them? Which of the 3 are they becoming more and more dependent on for their news, entertainment and communication? Which of the 3 do you think will provide the most effective way to deliver your advertising through? It’s really only natural that Mobile Media Marketing, which is still in its infancy at this point, will become the pre-eminent and dominant medium to use as a global marketing tool.
