MSN Sponsored Search is a paid advertisement that will appear on the search page when a certain keyword is searched for. This is done through MicroSoft’s Adcenter. Here advertisers can place bid for certain keywords. Once the advertiser’s bid is accepted then they will only pay when an advertisement with a link to their website is clicked. This way they are only paying for performance. So if no one clicks the advertisement then the advertisers bid remains active. The sponsored links can be found alongside the more generic search results on the search results page.
MSN Sponsored search also allows users to track their advertisements. Information on visitor’s age, gender and when they visited the site are also available. This helps the advertiser streamline their advertising campaign.
This tool allows advertisers to reach their target audience. Thus their advertisement will be clicked by persons who are interested in the product or service.
