Search Engines and Flash Files
Did you know the search engines can’t read Flash content? Many site owners ask for Flash animation for there websites but don’t realize having your entire web page turned into a .swf media animated presentation or animated website created in Flash can hurt the sites positioning because search engines will not know what your content is about if it’s inside a flash file.
Flash is a wonderful tool to spruce up a website, but it should be used in moderation. Website owners wanting flash animation should consider having a flash animation as part of the site .html page only, this way you get the best of both worlds – you can have menu items and keyword text content in the html page to help robots crawl and understand your site purpose and have a little hint of flash animation in a header banner or positioned somewhere within the page content on the site for visual appeal to viewers.
