SEO – ‘NoFollow’ link tag
Link managers and webmasters often exchange links with other relavant websites in order to improve link back counts to the search engines. Many search engines count link backs to measure your sites weight and seo experts believe that your link counts is taken into consideration when a search engine positions your site in the search results for your chosen keywords.
One thing to look out for when exchanging links with other webmasters is the ‘nofollow’ tag. The nofollow command can be placed inside a href link tag and tells a web crawler not to follow a certain link on your page. You cannot see this on the visitors view of the page, it’s a command hidden in a link url tag. Webmasters exchanging links with other webmasters should check the source code of the link on the partners site to ensure they do not use the nofollow tag, after all the point of the exchange is so that your link back is counted and crawled.
