What is a startpage?

A startpage is a webpage with several links about a specific topic or product. A startpage is normally hosted on a startpage domain are hosted on a startpage domain. Links placed on a startpage are usually shown in categories or sorted by relevance. Besides hyperlinks, startpages often contain text, animations and pictures.

Startpages are very popular in the dutch market, in 1998 a site launched called startpagina.nl and became very popular, many volunteers signed up to help manage it.
